UPTOWN & TRINITY GROVES WEEKEND

This weekend was full of joy, a few tears, some love and lots of beverages! My good coworker and friend, Jennifer, earned herself a promotion as a Director of Finance and I was so happy for her. The bad news for me was now she had to move locations and we wouldn't get to see each other everyday.

She's sassy, strong, courageous and such a positive energy to be around. She doesn't live far from me but still on opposite sides of Dallas so I had to take her to one of my favorite hidden gems, Bowen House, in Uptown. They have a great happy hour including $5 signature cocktails, $6 wines and appetizers starting at $5 plus Texas beers for $4. They're open every night starting at 4 p.m.

Needless to say, we had so much fun! It was the first time that we had gone out and just been us; two gals on the town, chatting about men, careers and aspirations. Oh, by the way, Bowen House has a great Old Fashioned; wonderful for sipping throughout the evening.

Saturday night included more friends and food. We all met up at Saint Rocco's in Trinity Groves for an amazing Italian super. I've been to Saint Rocco's a few times and I've never had bad service or bad food. This place is owned and managed by a true Italian family and mama is running all around the restaurant, treating everyone like a guest in her home. It's actually pretty spectacular to watch her work. I wish I got a photo with her. But instead, check out my sangria and spaghetti and meatballs. Magnifico!!

The group couldn't let the night end without a nightcap at Beto and Son (also at Trinity Groves). We were able to get a table right away and order some after dinner margaritas. Beto and Son have an amazing list of margaritas but nothing beats the nitrogen frozen margaritas. They have a classic and a rose. I opted for a classic while Jenn went with the pink rose.

This weekend was so fun and Bowen House, Saint Rocco's and Beto and Son made the perfect spots for our little beverage-capade. Cheers to the next big adventure, Jennifer! I'm so proud and can't wait to see what's to come in 2019!!
